Review of a Decision
This is an internal review of a management decision and is intended to take place before an adverse action is taken so as to avoid hardship.
The appeal to the Ethics Commissioner is intended to occur after the Deputy Head or Executive Council has reviewed the conflict situation and made a determination.
After this ruling is received, an employee may write to the Ethics Commissioner requesting a review.
The Ethics Commissioner will be asked to review the matter as quickly as possible and will provide a recommendation to the Minister of the department or to Executive Council as appropriate.
In the event that the Ethics Commissioner is unable to conduct a review, the Minister will establish an alternate process for review in consultation with the Public Service Commissioner.
