Stream  Definition:

Work primarily involves skilled technical work in support of government programs.  The technical work may be conducted in laboratory, field or office settings.  Work in this stream may include such fields as agriculture, agronomy, engineering, environment, cartography, surveying, pathology, toxicology and water management.

Other jobs focus on the installation, repair, maintenance and modification of technical systems such as electronic and/or communications systems or are responsible for supervising the servicing, operations and maintenance of government structures or buildings and their technical systems.

Minimum Recruitment Standard:

  • Some high school education supplemented with courses related to the position assignment; or equivalent as described below.

Equivalency:  Directly related experience considered in lieu of courses on a one-for-one basis.

Examples of position specific special requirements:

Communication Technician - positions require Federal Department of Transport Restricted Radio Telephone (Aircraft) Permit.
