Corporate Human Resources

Corporate Human Resources (CHR) provides leadership and services in people management for the Alberta Public Service (APS). CHR provides excellence in human resource management and acts as a catalyst for system transformation to revitalize the APS. It improves the overall effectiveness of the public service by providing integrated strategies, policies and programs that position the Government of Alberta as an employer of choice. The department also leads the modernization of our people practices and systems that enable our people to do their best work.

The APS’s vision is Proudly working together to build a stronger province for current and future generations. With over 27,000 employees, it is instrumental in meeting the needs of and delivering services to Albertans. To ensure that all members of the APS are in the best position to deliver the best possible outcomes to Albertans, CHR is accountable for stewarding our workplace and practices, working in collaboration with Ministries, to attract and retain the best and brightest.
